We are a traditional Japanese Sword school teaching Zen Nippon Toyama-Ryu Iaido Renmei. This is a study group led by Chris Gramling, Head Instructor. The group is under the guidance of Mike Soriero Sensei, Dojo Cho of Shiseikan Dojo of Clermont. We teach Iaido and Tameshigiri of the strict curriculum of Sezankai Toyama Ryu, as taught by Hataya Mitsuo Sensei in Machida, Japan.
Classes are traditional in nature. We structure them the same was as they are in Japan. Students will have the opportunity to train with Soriero Sensei as well as the chance to participate in competitions and seminars held in Florida and around the world. Local Dojo's that would like a demonstration of the art for their students should reach out to arrange a time to meet.
No martial arts experience is needed. However if you are a current or former student of martial arts you will find study of the Japanese sword compliments your existing art.
About me
My name is Chris Gramling. I have been in martial arts since 1994. Among the variety of arts I have studied through the years Iaido has been my primary focus. I currently hold a Nidan (2nd degree black belt) in Zen Nippon Toyama-Ryu Iaido, Shodan (1st degree black belt) in Muso Shinden Ryu Iaido and a Shodan in Shinmei Shorin-Ryu. I am excited to share what I have learned with the community.
